Catherine Ackert

Charles Ackert

Cemetery Lot Number...

Location

ACKERT, CATHERINE, wife of Charles
Died Nov. 24, 1916 - Aged 47 Years, 10 Months

The following is information FROM THE ACKERT FAMILY (Janet Fraser) about another possible stone that once existed here...

Quote "My father in law, James Ackert is 92. He told me of a head stone at this cemetery he saw first in the mid 1940's. It has the inscription of a Captain James Ackert who was killed by an american soldier during the War of 1812. I would very much like to find this cemetery and the stone to learn more about him. Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your info.

Janet"

Word seems to be that this Captain was shot and killed by a passing American soldier as they passed the area. The suspected death did NOT occur on the battle site during the battle.

We caution that prodding and research produced no further information to prove or disprove the existence of this. There seems to be more than one burial in that plot, but the old plot boundaries are not even known, so it is pretty much impossible to tell how many burials that there are there.
