Hammel Cemetery
Cemetery Number...
Location
From the KOGS Transcription of 1983
The slab is leaning against a elm
tree along the property line. The base for the
stone is there also, as well as three broken pieces
of other stones. A willow motif graces the slab.
Indications are that further stones existed at the
site in an earlier time.
Note the yellow flags at the red jacket and black camera case. These mark two borders of the cemetery. Les is standing in the almost exact middle of it. The cemetery goes back until almost exactly along the edge formed by the corn field behind Les. The tree that is standing there today in fact is almost at the middle of the cemetery. Today it is the first large deciduous tree right in that area. The others have now fallen.
